Grammy Letdown

What is there to say about the Grammys this year. Really, What is there to say? Nothing. It was the biggest letdown of the award show season thus far. From the fashion to the silly graphics. This was almost a total waste of time. Two things caught my eye:

Gwenyth Paltrow FABULOUS Shoes. MB first pointed them out, and then I ran across the on the internet and realized just how amazing they are.

Christian Louboutin Futura retro colorblock booties

The jaw dropping performance of Mumford & Sons, The Avett Brothers and Bob Dylan.

This performance has me even more excited for The Avett Brothers concert in March! Ahhhh I cannot wait! And…Soon I WILL GO TO the Mumford & Sons concert! Keep me up to date if you see them touring in these parts anytime soon.

Head Full of Doubt, Road Full of Promise

Sorry It’s been a while since my last post, but I’ve been so busy this past week! Well today, a lot of things have been happening and NY and making a decision and just overall wondering about my life have been on my mind. It kind of gets me stressed out sometimes. BUT while on my way to dinner with my family, I was listening to The Avett Brothers Mix, that Caitlyn so graciously made for me, and one of their songs just really spoke to me. I just felt so inspired after hearing it. Ever since she made this mix for me I’ve been pretty much obsessed with them, so I CANNOT wait for the concert in March!! ‘

The song is called “Head Full of Doubt, Heart Full of Promise”–Here are the lyrics and Im posting the video below it.

There’s a darkness upon me that’s flooded in light
In the fine print they tell me what’s wrong and what’s right
And it comes in black and it comes in white
And I’m frightened by those that don’t see it

When nothing is owed or deserved or expected
And your life doesn’t change by the man that’s elected
If you’re loved by someone, you’re never rejected
Decide what to be and go be it

There was a dream and one day I could see it
Like a bird in a cage I broke in and demanded that somebody free it
And there was a kid with a head full of doubt
So I’ll scream til I die and the last of those bad thoughts are finally out

There’s a darkness upon you that’s flooded in light
And in the fine print they tell you what’s wrong and what’s right
And it flies by day and it flies by night
And I’m frightened by those that don’t see it

There was a dream and one day I could see it
Like a bird in a cage I broke in and demanded that somebody free it
And there was a kid with a head full of doubt
So I’ll scream til I die and the last of those bad thoughts are finally out

Maybe, it will inspire you. I feel like it will apply to anyone with a dream. Let “the kid with the head full of doubt” stop feeding the negative and free yourself and actually follow what you want.

Strong Little Guy

I love this video. DON’T BE ALARMED IT IS NOT CRUEL. Just a little something to brighten your day!

Soooo I watched a tutorial from B. Jones Style on how to do a fishtail braid. I have been wanting to master this braid for a while but I just couldn’t do it, until this video. I also tried out the beach waves one and it worked great! I got so many complement on it, and even though I was a little embarassed to say I watched a youtube video on .

I tried the braid out on Barrett and she loved it! It looked really cute and simple!

‘Cause you’re there for me toooooooo

Last day of my Friends rant. Man, you guys may not enjoy this, but I sure do. Today, I will continue on through the last, but certainly not least, 2 characters; Phoebe and Rachel

Rachel might be one of the most popular characters of pop culture, ever. From her infamous hairstyle to her on-again off-again relationship with Ross, she can be recognized by someone who has never even seen an episode of Friends. Jennifer Anniston may be the one of the only characters from the show that went on to have a decent career after the show ended. She may be in the tabloids every week, but she is beloved by most women in America. Everyone tends to side with the jilted woman that we see a little of ourselves in.

Smelly cat, smelly cat, what are they feeding you? Smelly cat, smelly cat, it’s not your fault. Oops, sorry It’s pretty difficult to look at this picture of Phoebe Buffay and not want to break into her eccentric lyrics. Flakey, Weird, Unique; these are all words that can describe Lisa Kudrow’s character. She may be all of those things, but that is what is so great about her. She is incredibly weird, but she is also the definition of a good friend with a big heart. I’ve always wondered a lot about Phoebe. It is never know how she came to be friends with the gang. Every other character is connected somehow, but not Phoebe. She is also the only character that had never had a romance with another Friend. Which I think is a pleasantry. Paul Rudd arrives in Season 9 to play her love interest and later husband. He plays the perfect match to her freakish ways. I wish I would see more of Lisa Kudrow today, but I feel like I might always retreat back to her Phoebe character.

Well that concludes my Friends Tribute. I thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing over my old Friends. Give me some feedback… what’s your favorite episode, who is your favorite character? I would love to hear it!
